Well it has been 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone first hit cinemas and even longer since the first book was published. So after over 2 decades of collectables, merchandise, games and weird fan fiction you might be wondering what more can we get out of Harry Potter?
Well what if I told you that some of the best looking HP collectables are available to you right now and I’m going to show you what they are.
The disappointment when I did not receive my Hogwarts letter on my 11th birthday still haunts me, so you know I had to make up for it by copping one of these state-of-the-art realistic wands. These are not your ordinary toy wands; they have a high level of detail and weight that elevates them to a pristine collector’s item.
The Ollivander packaged wand series has Eight of your favourite wands to choose from each with its own unique and elegant Ollivander style casing. The felt interior and soft fabric curtain make these wands feel like you have just picked them up from Diagon Alley and will sit superbly on your mantle piece.
Take your pick from Voldemort, Sirius Severus, Ron, Hermione, Harry, Draco, or Dumbledore’s wand. Although you shouldn’t have to try to hard when making a decision because remember, the wand is meant to choose you…
Celebrating the trio at their most adorable and innocent, the S.H. Figuarts Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone edition includes Harry, Ron, and Hermione as we came to know and love them 20 years ago during their first year at Hogwarts. Each comes with their own unique pieces from the film.
Complete with red hair and hand me down robes, this Ron Weasley Collectable must be one of my favourite Harry Potter figures in existence. There is something so hilarious about Ron’s constant look of deep concern no matter what the situation. This very expression is captured perfectly on the interchangeable faces included with this figure. He also comes with 6 different hands for maximum poseability, a wand, textbooks, a broomstick and of course his fat rat scabbers!
One of the best things about the Hermione Granger figure is its inclusion of the feather from the iconic Levioh-Sah scene. Also included is multiple faces, hands, a textbook, wand, and the Philosopher’s stone. This first year Hermione in all her Brilliance is not one to miss out on.
We mustn’t forget the chosen one himself, yes, it is true what they are saying on the train, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts. (if you haven’t already noticed I could go all day with these quotes I have seen this movie in excess of 200 times). This awesome figure comes equipped with Harry’s signature wand, the Nimbus 2000 and everybody’s favourite Hedwig! (with interchangeable wings). This dynamic Harry also comes with multiple faces and hands. These first year Gryffindors are essential collectors’ items for any Potter head and will be sure to give your daily nostalgic fix.
If you are after something a little more elegant and subtle, then this could be the item for you. The Harry Potter Sterling silver pendants are beautiful, Australian made pieces in the shape of your favourite Hogwarts house. Now of course before buying you will have to go on Pottermore and get sorted to see what house you are in, however I am assuming if you are reading this article then you most likely already know. I personally will be going for the Hufflepuff Badger pendant, because it is clearly the best one…
But they do come in every house so take your pick! Each pendant includes full leatherette packaging and a 50cm silver chain. These would make a great gift for any of your fellow Potter obsessed friends or get one for your own collection because it is not every day you can find licensed Harry Potter Jewellery with such style.
I have saved the best (cheapest) for last. These Harry Potter Backpack Buddies are incredibly adorable and practical. Surprise yourself with this lucky dip, there are 8 to collect all up but you can’t choose. My personal favourite is the tiny pink Luna Lovegood so you know I will be buying these until I get it. Hang them off your bag or just put them on your dressing table, these little cuties will guaranteed have you smiling at least once a day. And they are only 9 dollars each! That is dangerously cheap, I almost wish they cost more so I didn’t have to keep buying them.
Well there you go, if you thought Harry Potter merchandise had been completely exhausted after two decades of production, you couldn’t have been more wrong! Just take your pick.
